I just got a chance to watch Changeling. Wow, what a great movie. It's a very sad story, but still a lot of good came from the actual real life events in the end. If you haven't seen it i'm going to spoil part of it for you right here. Now knowing that Walter did escape from the chicken coop with two other boys, it's hard to imagine that he didn't make a clean getaway and escape death. But there's only a 50% chance of that in the end. Sadly, he probably was recaptured and killed by Northcott. There's just no other explanation why he wouldn't flee back to his mother if he did in fact get away and escaped re-capture. Towards the end of the movie one of the boys who did escape and evaded recapture, David, comes forward and tells the tale of how they escaped, but he did not know the fate of the other two boys he escaped with. In the end, Christine Collins finds a new hope in finding her son because David did come forward. I'd expand upon this more but I don't have the time to do so today.
